MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />Mondav, Januarv 28, 2013 <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Paul Denney, <br />Chairman at 4:01 p.m. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Paul Denney <br />Douglas Cox <br />Nancy Anderson <br />Ben Vaughan <br />David Stewart <br />Britin Bostick <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Laurie Redus <br />C. Also present: Dr. Colton Wicks, Pam and Eddie Harris, Barbara Wilson, Cheri <br />Bedford, Main Street Manager and Historic Preservation Officer, Joey Sleeper, <br />City of Paris Building Ofiicial, Bill Loranger, Parks Superintendent. <br />2. Approval of minutes from January 12, 2012 to further clarify the wording on item 3-A as <br />stated: "Mary Ann Campbell proposed placing a si n on the North side of her building <br />covering an existing blanked window opening of the building and brought a sample of <br />materials to be used". <br />Motion was made by Britin Bostick seconded by Douglas Cox to approve the meeting <br />minutes with corrections. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: <br />A. 443 1 S` Street S. W. —Eddie Harris presented the signage for his building. Mr. Harris <br />stated that he would be using an existing pole sign and placing signage on both sides <br />of the sign, and adding a 4 x 16 foot sign to the roof line on the front the building. <br />The proposed sign meets the current sign ordinance in place at this time. <br />Discussion on the current sign ordinance verses the design standards was brought to <br />the attention of the commission by Commissioner Ben Vaughn after discussion it was <br />determined that it should be researched and placed on as a future agenda item. <br />A motion was made to approve the COA for the sign by Britin Bostick, seconded by Nancy <br />Anderson, Motion carried 5-1- Ben Vaughn votes in opposition. <br />B. 15 E. Plaza- Colton Wicks presented his proposal for restoration work on the fa�ade <br />12 <br />
