INTERLOCAL GOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR COMMUNITY POLICING <br />DRUG ELIMINATION SERVICES <br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF PARIS AND <br />THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF PARIS <br />STATE OF TEXAS ) <br />) KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: <br />COUNTY OF LAMAR ) <br />THAT, the CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, a municipal corporation, acting by and through <br />its City Manager, Michael E. Malone, duly authorized, hereinafter called CITY, and the HOUSING <br />AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, a public housing authority, acting by and through its <br />Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Curtis Fendley, duly authorized, hereinafter called PHA, do <br />hereby contract and agree as follows: <br />1. CITY covenants and agrees that it will furnish community policing drug elimination <br />services, in addition to ordinary police patrol services currently furnished to PHA, to consist of one (1) <br />police officer, certified by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards, who has been <br />trained in multi-ethnic cultural and sensitivity training, with personal communication pack, and one (1) <br />fully equipped and marked police patrol unit far that amount of time and far those hours scheduled weekly <br />as agreed between the Chief, Paris Police Department, and the Executive Director of the Housing <br />Authority, or designee, and reduced to a written schedule in the form of Exhibit A, attached hereto, and <br />the schedule may be amended upon agreement of the same parties. <br />2. CITY also agrees to provide officers to attend monthly meetings of the residents' <br />organization council, which said officers will consist of the Crime Prevention Officer, the Police Athletic <br />League Officer, and the Drug Abuse Resistance Education Officer. The Chief shall meet quarterly with <br />the Executive Director of the Housing Authority, or designee, in order to review progress of the grant and <br />EXHIBIT A <br />Page 1 <br />
