ORDINAIITCE NO. 2013-004 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TNE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL MAP ADOPTED IN SECTION 31- <br />65(b), OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS; <br />ESTABLISHING A STOP SIGN ON 4th STREET NW AT PROVINE STREET <br />STOPPING NORTH A1VD SOUTH-BOUND TRAFFIC; MAKING OTHER <br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; PROVIDING A <br />REPEALER CLAUSE, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, A SAVINGS CLAUSE, A <br />PENALTY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDIIVG AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris Traffic Commission is charged with reviewing and <br />evaluating proposals to add or remove traffic control devices on City streets and roadways <br />throughout the City of Paris; and, <br />WHEREAS, among those traffic control devices evaluated by the Traffic Commission <br />is the placement of stop signs at various intersections throughout the City; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Traffic Commission, at its regular meeting of January 8, 2013, <br />considered and evaluated a request for the placement of a stop sign at the intersection of <br />4t" Street NW and Provine Street, to stop the northbound and southbound traffic on 4� <br />Street NW and, having done so, found and determined that the placement of stop signs at <br />this location in the City of Paris is necessary to protect the public health and safety and is in <br />the best interests of the citizens of the City of Paris; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are hereby in <br />all things approved. <br />Section 2. That the Traffic Control Map of the City of Paris, Texas, as amended, and <br />as adopted in Paragraph (b) of Section 31-65, Chapter 31, of the Code of Ordinances of the <br />City of Paris, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, further amended to include the following <br />stop signs: <br />"Stop Sign - on 4th Street N.W. at Provine stopping Northbound and <br />Southbound traffic." <br />
