Library Advisory Board <br />April 17, 2002 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE LIBRARY <br />ADVISORY BOARD <br />April 17, 2002 <br />The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met in regular session <br />Wednesday, April 17, 2002, at 4:00 PM in the Library with Chairman <br />Nancee Salzman presiding. The following members were present: Anna <br />Davis, Sarah Gambill, Fran Neeley, John Howison, Walter Williams and <br />Nancee Salzman. Also attending were Callie Thompson, Friends President <br />and Betty Landon, Library Director. Not attending were Peggy Guthrie, <br />Keith Williamson and Vicki Terlap. <br />The March 20, 2002 minutes were approved. <br />The budget looks good. A credit on Laundry and Cleaning will be given <br />and it will no longer show a negative. Travel showed a negative. Spending <br />is still taking place for books. <br />The statistics report showed that the library checked out 28 less books than <br />last March. Interlibrary loans were down slightly. Program attendance <br />was up. The library received 38 memorials that amounted to $870.00. <br />Books on CD have become very popular at the Library with very few <br />staying on the shelf. <br />Children's Services participated in the Kids Safe Saturday program with <br />1500 kids and 700 adults visiting the Library booth. An American Girl <br />party was held at the Wise House with 29 girls attending and 21 adults. <br />Eight other programs were presented with 154 children participating and <br />76 adults. Preschool Outreach presented 14 programs with 243 children <br />and 50 aduits attending. <br />The Adult Outreach had 48 interlibrary loans. They presented 2 programs <br />with 50 people attending. volunteer hours. <br />At our March 20"' meeting, Dale Fleeger, a consultant from NETLS <br />suggested that we establish a planning committee. Nancee Salzman <br />volunteered to serve on this committee. Keith Williamson and Vicki <br />Terlap were also suggested. Fran Neeley is`leaving the Library Board to <br />
