Library Advisory Board April 17, 2002 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD April 17, 2002 The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met in regular session Wednesday, April 17, 2002, at 4:00 PM in the Library with Chairman Nancee Salzman presiding. The following members were present: Anna Davis, Sarah Gambill, Fran Neeley, John Howison, Walter Williams and Nancee Salzman. Also attending were Callie Thompson, Friends President and Betty Landon, Library Director. Not attending were Peggy Guthrie, Keith Williamson and Vicki Terlap. The March 20, 2002 minutes were approved. The budget looks good. A credit on Laundry and Cleaning will be given and it will no longer show a negative. Travel showed a negative. Spending is still taking place for books. The statistics report showed that the library checked out 28 less books than last March. Interlibrary loans were down slightly. Program attendance was up. The library received 38 memorials that amounted to $870.00. Books on CD have become very popular at the Library with very few staying on the shelf. Children's Services participated in the Kids Safe Saturday program with 1500 kids and 700 adults visiting the Library booth. An American Girl party was held at the Wise House with 29 girls attending and 21 adults. Eight other programs were presented with 154 children participating and 76 adults. Preschool Outreach presented 14 programs with 243 children and 50 aduits attending. The Adult Outreach had 48 interlibrary loans. They presented 2 programs with 50 people attending. volunteer hours. At our March 20"' meeting, Dale Fleeger, a consultant from NETLS suggested that we establish a planning committee. Nancee Salzman volunteered to serve on this committee.
