Wqter Treatment Plqnt Procludion Sfudy <br />(IESWTR) and the Stage I Disinfectants and Disinfection Byproducts Rule (D/DBPR). <br />These rules require more thorough monitoring and treatrnent. <br />Mr. Morrison conducted detailed studies on six communities, ranging in size from <br />10,000 to more than 100,000 service population, the studies included evolutions of <br />affirmarive disinfections and pilot testing for ozone and chlorine dioxide. The studies <br />developed altemative compliance criteria requirements for each facility considering a <br />complete four-season operational period. The Texas communities studied included: <br />City/Authority <br />Greenbelt Municipal and <br />Industrial Water Authority <br />• • <br />23,527 <br />Clebume <br />25,000 <br />Grapevine <br />39,300 <br />Longview <br />75,000 <br />Beaumont <br />118,000 <br />Fort Worth <br />800,000 <br />Each community faced operational and equipment changes in order to be compliant <br />with the new regulations. Costs for each city varied from a few thousand dollars to <br />more than $29,000,000 to meet the requirements.
