A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, DIRECTING PUBLICATION OF NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ISSUE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, COMBINATION TAX AND REVENUE CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION, SERIES 2002; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, deems it advisable to give notice of intention to issue Certificates of Obligation in the amount of $6,060,000.00 for paying all or a portion of the City's contractual obligations for the purpose of acquiring an 83,000 sq. ft. building situated on 23 acres, being referred to as the UARCO Building, which will be converted to a law enforcement center for police, courts and j ail, and other improvements related thereto; and for paying legal, fiscal, architectural, and engineering fees in connection with these projects; and, WHEREAS, it is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this resolution was passed was open to the public and public notice of the time, place, and purpose of said meeting was given, all as required by Chapter 551, Texas Government Code; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That attached hereto as Exhibit A is a form of the Notice of Intention to issue Certificates of Obligation, the form and substance of which is hereby adopted and approved. Section 3. That the City Clerk shall cause said notice to be published in substantially the form attached hereto in a newspaper of general circulation in said city, and published in said city, on the same day in each of two consecutive weeks, the date of the first publication thereof to be at least fourteen (14) days prior to the time set for the issuance of such certificates of obligation as shown in said notice. Section 4. That this resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
