Historic Preservation Commission <br />There is hereby created a commission to be known as the Historic <br />Preservation Commission. <br />[Note: Other possible names include Landmark Commission, <br />Historic District and Landmark Commission, or Board of Architectural <br />Review.] <br />(a) The Commission shall consist of inembers to be appointed, to the extent <br />available among the residents of the community, by the (mayor, council, commission) <br />as Follows. <br />These are possible representatives. <br />at least one shall be an architect, planner, or representative of a design profession; <br />at least one shall be a historian; <br />at least one shall be a licensed real estate broker; <br />at least one shall be an attorney; <br />at least one shall be an owner of a landmark or of a property in a historic district; <br />at least one shall be a member of <br />[Note: This blank should include the name of whatever preservation nonprofit exists.] <br />at least one shall be an archeologist or from a re]ated discipline; <br />(b) All Commission members, regardless of background, shall have a known and <br />demonstrated interest, competence, or knowledge in historic preservation within the <br />village/town/city of <br />
