City Council Meetrng <br />June 6, 2002 <br />Page 5 <br />Mr. Gifford pointed out that after a person washes their vehicle they turn their <br />boom boxes up while they continue to clean their vehicles, and that is when the <br />noise starts. <br />Leann Sartor came forward again stating that their car wash will be forty feet <br />away from the homeowners. She agreed to put up a privacy fence and maintain <br />it. Ms. Sartor said this not going to be like the car washes that are presently in <br />Paris. The vacuums will be up front by the traffic. The business is not going <br />to be near the homeowners' property. She stated that she was only allowing a <br />drive of thirty feet behind the business in order to prevent the cars from coming <br />around back from Lamar Avenue. Ms. Sartor showed the City Council the <br />plans for the car wash and explained that the noise will be at the front of the <br />property near Lamar Avenue. Ms. Sartor also told the City Council that there <br />are shades that will be placed on the lights to reflect to the front of the property <br />and the security lights will be close to the street. <br />Fred Eatherly presented a petition containing thirty-eight signatures of <br />taxpayers who are against the rezoning of this lot. <br />Sara Eatherly again addressed the City Council regarding the rezoning change <br />and again voiced her objections. <br />After further discussion, Mayor Pfiester declared the public hearing closed and <br />asked this group to go down to the break area and discuss this matter and see <br />if they could compromise with each other and come up with an agreement. <br />Mayor Pfiester announced that Agenda Item No. 8, consideration of and action <br />on an ordinance amending Zoning Ordinance No. 1710, changing the zoning <br />from a General Retail District (GR) to a General Retail District (GR) With <br />Specific Use Permit (3) Auto Laundry on Lot 21, City Block 249, be postponed <br />until later in the meeting. <br />Mayor Pfiester declared the public hearing open to consider the petition of <br />
