Since that time, for 19 consecutive years, the City
of Paris has been approved in continuing with the Task Force under this grant. There are two
Paris police detectives assigned to the Task Force paid for by this grant. These officers are
allowed to investigate auto thefts and auto burglaries in a number of counties in the Northeast
Texas area. Many times, criminals operate beyond jurisdictional lines.
STATUS OF ISSUE: The 2013 grant application is for the amount of $198,139.00. Council has
to approve the application for the grant and authorize the manager to complete certain documents
which must be submitted by May Sth.
