A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR FURNISHING LABOR, MATERIALS, AND EQUIPMENT AND FOR PERFORMING ALL W ORK REQUIRED FOR GROUNDS MAINTENANCE ON SPECIFIED CITY OF PARIS PARKS AND FACILITIES; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, in Resolution No.97-086, on August 11, 1997, award the bid and approve execution of the Agreement for Grounds Maintenance with T& D Lawn Maintenance; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore in Resolution No. 99-118, on September 13, 1999 approve the Assignment of the Rights and Obligations from T& D Lawn Maintenance to Renno's Lawn Care for furnishing labor, materials, and equipment and for performing all work required for grounds maintenance on specified City of Paris parks and facilities; and, WHEREAS, the term of the Agreement for Grounds Maintenance expires September 30, 2002, without the current contractor exercising the option to renew said agreement; and, WHEREAS, the current contractor has exercised his right to terminate the contract following sixty (60) days written notice to the City, and the Agreement for Grounds Maintenance should be advertised for bids; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That such Agreement for Grounds Maintenance be advertised for bids to be received after due notice at the office of the City Manager of the City of Paris, City Hall, 135 lst Street S.E., Paris, Texas 75460, unti13:00 o'clockp.m. on Tuesday, the 3rd day of September, 2002, or such other date as the City Manager shall determine, at which time said bids will be opened in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, 135 lst Street SE, Paris, Lamar County, Texas, and bids will be read aloud, tabulated and referred to the City Council for its consideration. Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
