Division 1 <br />General Requirements <br />AND SPECIFICATIONS: During the time of bidding, the <br />g Mral Contractors will be provided with two sets of plans <br />and specifications upon deposit o£ $30.00 for each set. <br />This deposit will be returned upon the return of documents <br />in good condition together with a bona fide bid. If for any <br />reason the Contractor is unable to submit a bid, he must <br />return the plans and specifications before the opening of <br />bids in order to secure the return of his deposit. <br />Extra sets and partial sets may be secured for bidding by <br />Contractors, sub-contractors, and material men for the <br />actual cost of blue printing. Such cost will not be <br />refunded. These sets of Plans and Specifications will be <br />returned to fhe office of the Architect immediately after <br />the award of the Contract, unless the Bidder is awarded <br />said Contract. If plans are not returned, undamaged, within <br />one week of Bid Opening, the Contractor shall pay for the <br />printing cost. <br />BID BOND: Each proposal must be accompanied by a Cashier's <br />Check or Bid Bond for the amount of 5% of the bid, made <br />payable to the Owner. Such bond or check shall guarantee <br />the execution of Contract and Performance & Payment Bond <br />within ten days after the receipt of written notice that <br />bid has been accepted. The Bid Bond shall have no <br />limitation as to date will be allowed except as prescribed <br />as by law. <br />GVARANTEES: All work and material of the following <br />specification shall be guaranteed free from defects in <br />material and workmanship for a period of one year from the <br />date of final completion and acceptance of the work. Some <br />divisions o£ the specification require a guarantee longer <br />than one year. In such case, the General Contractor shall <br />require the Sub-Contractor to provide a letter to the Owner <br />in which he guarantees such work for the required period. <br />The General Contractor shall underwrite such guarantee. <br />During the period of guarantee, when so directed, faulty <br />material or workmanship shall be corrected without cost to <br />the Owner. None of the guarantees shall apply to items or <br />work which has been abused or neglected by the owner. <br />7 <br />
