Division 9-E: <br />Acoustical <br />ACOUSTICAL TREATMENT <br />- GENERAL: Furnish all labor and material to provide a ceiling <br />system and related items as scheduled and specified herein. <br />This trade shall cooperate with the Electrician, Air Condi- <br />tioning trade, and other trades involved. <br />Notify the Architect of any conditions which may prevent <br />satisfactory installation. Do all cutting of ceiling units <br />as required and provide proper support at electrical fix- <br />tures and air conditioning outlets. Electrician and Air <br />Conditioning Contractor shall support their devices. Remove <br />or repair any damage or soiled units as directed by Architect. <br />GUARANTEE: All labor and material in this Division shall <br />be guaranteed as called for in the "General Requirements". <br />SCOPE: This Division includes a ceiling system where as <br />scheduled, consisting of a suspended exposed metal grid <br />ceiling system with mineral board tiles and a suspended <br />metal grid system with no tile. <br />APPROVAL: Within 30 days of contract submit 4 copies of <br />manufacturer's brochure of the material to be used along <br />with a sample of the tile to be used. Brochure shall have <br />information to prove compliance with this specification. <br />CORRECTION AND CLEANING: On completion, all adjoining <br />surfaces and all surfaces of the acoustical units sha11 <br />be clean and left free from defects. Units which are <br />damaged or improperly applied shall be removed and replaced <br />where so directed. Remove all waste resulting from the <br />work of this Division and leave the premises clean and <br />free from debris. <br />SUSPENDED GRID CEILING: Furnish and install where scheduled <br />ceiling system as follows: <br />PANELS: shall be 5/8" thick mineral board, 24" x 24", <br />and lay-in square edge as manufactured by Armstrong.. <br />The pattern texture shall be equal to Armstrong's <br />Minaboard white fissured. Panels shall be secured <br />in place with metal clips. Where 24" x 48" light <br />fixtures are shown no panels are required. <br />GRID SYSTEM: shall be equal to Chicago Metallic Corp. #500, <br />exposed grid intermediate duty grid system with <br />white finish. Main runners shall be #500 .024 <br />steel, 15/16" wide and 1-1/2" high. Eross tee <br />shall be #504 .024 steel, 15/16" wide and 1-3/8" <br />high. Wall angle shall be 15/16" x 15/16" .024 <br />steel and shall be screwed through gyp to studs <br />at side walls. Hanger wire shall be 12 gauge <br />galvanized wire 4'-0" o.c. <br />48 <br />
