Division 7-D <br />CaulRing <br />CAULKING <br />GENERAL: Furnish all labor and material to seal and caulk <br />as shown and called for on plans and as herein specified. <br />GUARANTEE: All work performed under this Division of the <br />specification shall be guaranteed against defects in material <br />and workmanship for a period of one year. When so directed <br />by the Architect, repair any such defects without cost <br />to the Owner. <br />SCOPE: The work in this Division includes caulking of <br />joints and cracks as shown and described, backing material <br />where called for, and sealing the building to stop infil- <br />tration of air and water. Caulking and sealing as related <br />to roofing and its flashing shall be done by roofer. <br />MATERIAL: Materials shall be delivered to the site in <br />sealed containers with the manufacturer's name and trade <br />mark clearly indicated thereon. All materials shall be <br />applied according to manufacturer's printed directions. <br />SEALANT- for doors shall be <br />acrylic terpolymer non-sag, <br />required for this sealant. <br />Pecora #60+ Unicrylic one-part <br />color to match. No primer <br />PRIMER shall be Pecora Synthacalk primer No. P-75 or as <br />otherwise recommended by manufacturer. <br />BACK-UP material where required, shall be Pecora Foam Joint <br />Filler No. 90 Ethafoam or approved equal. <br />SEALANT at plumbing fixtures shall be silicone gun grade <br />as manufactured by Pecora Chemical Co. <br />WORKMANSHIP: All caulking and sealing shall be done by <br />skilled mechanics. <br />All joints and spaces to be caulked shall be dry, clean' <br />and free of oil, grease, dust, asphalt, and loose aggregateS. <br />Clean with brush, lint free clothes, or compressed air <br />if necessary. Joints more than 3/4" deep shall be filled <br />with backing to within 1/2" of the surface. Apply caulking <br />with gun using proper size nozzle or pour as required <br />according to manufacturer's directions. Fill joints solid <br />and leave surface neat, smooth, clean, and water tight. <br />Where necessary to keep caulk from face of material, mask <br />the adjoininq face surfaces. <br />3G <br />
