MINUTES <br />Paris Municipal Band Commission <br />A meeting of the members of the Paris Municipal Band Commission was held on <br />Monday, August 5, 2002, at 12 noon, in the boardroom of the Lamar County <br />Chamber of Commerce. <br />PRESENT <br />Randy Bunch Linda Suarez <br />James Brunette <br />ABSENT <br />Edmond Castleberry Albert Nichol <br />Also present was: <br />Tom Nuegent, Paris Municipal Band Director <br />In the absence of Chairman Edmond Castleberry, Vice Chairman James <br />Brunette called the meeting to order at 12:30 p.m. <br />As the first order of business, the minutes from the previous meeting held on <br />April 15, 2002, were unanimously approved as submitted. <br />The 2002 Season of the Paris Municipal Band was reviewed. The following <br />points were highlights of the discussion: <br />• Total Expenditures to date are $16,970 compared to $19,952 total budget. <br />The largest expenditure was in musician fees which totaled $14,767 for 83 <br />musicians. <br />Overall season was exceptional. The music was well received by both the <br />crowd in attendance and the musicians. The response from musicians <br />was excellent and the audience was abundant and appreciative. <br />Discussion of the schedule was held with a desire to move the entire <br />season forward in an attempt to miss the peak of the summer's heat. Due <br />to the end of school and the time needed to prepare the band hall for the <br />following school year, it was decided to leave the schedule set at the <br />traditional time. <br />Discussion of the 2003 Season of the Paris Municipal Band was held in <br />conjunction with discussion of the 2003 budget. On a motion by Linda Suarez, <br />seconded by Randy Bunch the 2003 Budget of $20,850 was unanimously <br />approved. The budget is attached and made a part of these minutes. <br />
