Planning and Zoning Meeting <br />July 2, 2002 <br />Page 2 <br />Melissa Jackson, 654 SE 22"d, spoke in opposition and presented a <br />petition against the change. She had parking concerns because the <br />neighborhood is already overcrowded. Ms. Jackson expressed concern <br />about the location of the building to her residence. Ms. Jackson <br />opposed the hours of operation stating that this would be a distraction <br />to the neighborhood. Ms. Jackson was concerned about construction <br />standards and did not like the fact that if zoning is changed, it would be <br />permanent. <br />Patsy Wynn was concerned about parking. Ms. Wynn's husband has <br />already had a wreck with Mr. Swindle. <br />Randy Jackson, 654 SE 22°d, ezpressed the same concerns and does not <br />want the zoning changed. <br />There was no further opposition, the public hearing was declared <br />closed. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the. petition of Donna Swindle for a <br />change in zoning from a Two-Family Dwelling District (2F) to a <br />Neighborhood Service District (NS), Lot 5, City Block 226-A, being <br />number 664 22"d Street SE. <br />Motion was made to deny the petition by Curtis Fendley and seconded <br />by Louis Yates, Jr. Motion carried by a vote of 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />4. Public Hearing to consider the petition of Earl Posey for a change in <br />zoning from a One-Family Dwelling District No. 2(SF-2) to a Two- <br />Family Dwelling District (2F), Lots 2& 3, City Block 300, being the 500 <br />Block 24" NW. <br />The public hearing was declared open. <br />Tommy Posey, 815 3311 NE, spoke in favor of the petition stating that he <br />wants to build a duplex on the property.
