A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND THE COMMISSIONERS COURT OF THE COUNTY OF LAMAR AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN INTERLOCAL COOPERATION CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PARIS AND THE COUNTY OF LAMAR FOR COUNTY-WIDE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has been requested by the County of Lamar, State of Texas, to continue to provide emergency medical services to all areas of Lamar County, both inside and outside the city limits of Paris; and, WHEREAS, the form of the Emergency Medical Services Interlocal Cooperation Contract, entered into pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A, should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor of the City of Paris and the County Judge of the County of Lamar should be authorized to execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND THE COMMISSIONERS COURT OF THE COUNTY OF LAMAR: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That emergency medical services continue to be extended to all areas of Lamar County, State of Texas, both inside and outside the city limits of Paris. Section 3. That, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code, the form of the Emergency Medical Services Interlocal Cooperation Contract for providing such services, attached hereto as Exhibit A, be, and the same is hereby, approved. Section 4. That the Mayor of the City of Paris and the County Judge of the County of Lamar be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris and the County of Lamar, respectively, the Emergency Medical Services Interlocal Cooperation Contract, under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto. Section 5. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
