RESOLUTION NO. 2013 -025 A JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, AND THE LAMAR COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE PARIS -LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the one -year terms of Keith House and Kristie Martin expire June 30, 2013; and, WHEREAS, the three -year term of Mr. Bill Strathern is vacant leaving an unexpired term to be filled through June 30, 2014; and, WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris, with the advice of the County Judge of Lamar County, Texas, does hereby recommend the appointment of Dr. Keith House and Bill Collins, residents of Lamar County to serve three -year terms beginning July 1, 2013 and ending June 30, 2016, filling the expired one -year terms of Keith House and Kristi Martin ending June 30, 2013, and the appointment of Kristi Martin to fill the unexpired 3 -year term of Bill Strathern ending June 30, 2014. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS; AND THE LAMAR COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That Dr. Keith House and Bill Collins, citizens, be and are hereby appointed to serve as members of the Paris -Lamar County Board of Health for a term of three years, beginning July 1, 2013, and ending June 30, 2016. Section 3. That Kristi Martin, citizen, be and is hereby appointed to serve the remainder of the unexpired term of Bill Strathern ending June 30, 2014 Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of July 2013
