RESOLUTION NO. 2013 -032 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE CITY MANAGER'S PROPOSED BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2013 -2014; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on July 22, 2013 the City Manager submitted his proposed 2013 -14 budget for the City of Paris, Texas to the City Council in accordance with Sec. 45 of the City Charter and he filed the Budget with the City Clerk in accordance with Vernon's Texas Codes Annotated, Local Government Code, Section 102.005(a); and, WHEREAS, on August 20, 2013, at a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris the City Council reviewed the Budget with staff and requested certain amendments be added to the FY 2013 -2014 Budget; and, WHEREAS, on September 3, 2013 at a Special Meeting of the Paris City Council, the City Council voted to add certain new items to the Fiscal Year 2013 -14 Budget and /or certain line items or accounts were increased in the Budget; therefore a new public hearing must be called and held on a future date to consider these amendments; and, WHEREAS, an appropriate time for said public hearing is found to be the 23rd day of September, 2013, at 5:30 p.m. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That a public hearing is called for the 23rd day of September 2013, at 5:30 p.m. at the Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufman, Paris, Texas, for the purpose of hearing written and oral comments from the citizens of the City of Paris concerning the proposed amendments and /or additions to the City Manager's proposed annual budget for fiscal year beginning October 1, 2013, and ending September 30, 2014; and, Section 3. That the City Clerk of the City of Paris publish notice of said public hearing in the Paris News on September 6, 2013 setting forth the time and place of said public hearing, which public hearing date is no sooner than the tenth (10th) day after said publication date. Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
