Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />Jan 13, 2003 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE <br />CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES <br />ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING <br />A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) ON LOT 1, CITY BLOCK 307-B, ON <br />PROPERTY BELONGING TO RALPH ROOKS, SO AS TO INCLUDE <br />THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS AN <br />AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT (A); DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF <br />THE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT ©) SO ESTABLISHED; PROVIDING FOR <br />A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $2,000.00; REPEALING ALL <br />ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE, WAS PRESENTED. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Councilman Weekly, seconded by Councilman <br />McCarthy, for adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br /> <br />Mayor Pfiester announced the next order of business was approval of minutes <br />from previous meetings. The City Manager advised that the City Council had <br />been furnished with the minutes of previous meetings and the City Council <br />may want to take those and read over them as they were not on the computer <br />disk. No action was taken to approve the minutes furnished. <br /> <br />City Manager Malone advised that the minutes from the Paris Economic <br />Development corporation had been furnished with no action be required. <br /> <br />Gary Vest, Executive Director of the Paris Economic Development <br />Corporation, came forward presenting a power point presentation of the Annual <br />Report for the year 2002. <br /> <br />Mr. Vest reported that they advertised in a number of publications throughout <br />the year. The first one they advertised in, "Plant Sites and Parks", generated <br />28 leads. A copy of the ad was passed around. There was another <br />advertisement in "Trade and Commerce" which resulted in 24 leads. They also <br /> <br /> <br />
