A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE PRESERVATION OF NATURAL OPEN SPACE LAND IN THE CITY OF PARIS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE PARIS SPORTS COMPLEX PROJECT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 26th day of January, 1995, in Resolution No. 95-018, approve and adopt the Parks and Recreation Master Plan for the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 9th day of April, 2001, in Resolution No. 2001-044, authorize the preparation of plans and specifications for the construction of the Paris Sports Complex Project; and, WHEREAS, such plans and specifications have identified approximately 10 acres of natural open space for preservation, as requested by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Recreation Grants Program; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Paris authorizes the preservation of natural open space land contained in the Paris Sports Complex Project amounting to approximately 10 acres as shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto. Section 3. That within the depicted natural open space there will be no permanent structures built now or in the future, with the exception of walking/recreational trails and associated amenities. Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage. PASSED AND APPROVED this 14th day of April, 2003. Michael J. Pfiester, Mayor
