ESWORK\CURRENT\Sports Complex - Preservation of Natural Open Space Land Res.wpd <br /> April 11, 2003 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE PRESERVATION OF NATURAL <br />OPEN SPACE LAND IN THE CITY OF PARIS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF <br />THE PARIS SPORTS COMPLEX PROJECT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS <br />AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 26th day of January, <br />1995, in Resolution No. 95-018, approve and adopt the Parks and Recreation Master Plan for the <br />City of Paris; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 9th day of April, <br />2001, in Resolution No. 2001-044, authorize the preparation of plans and specifications for the <br />construction of the Paris Sports Complex Project; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, such plans and specifications have identified approximately 10 acres of natural <br />open space for preservation, as requested by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Recreation <br />Grants Program; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things <br />approved. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Paris authorizes the preservation of natural <br />open space land contained in the Paris Sports Complex Project amounting to approximately 10 acres <br />as shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That within the depicted natural open space there will be no permanent structures <br />built now or in the future, with the exception of walking/recreational trails and associated amenities. <br /> <br />Section 4.
