HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF PARIS <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING <br />100 GEORGE WRIGHT HOMES <br /> December 17, 2002 <br /> 12:46 p.m. <br /> <br />D <br /> <br />Chairman Rick Poston called the meeting to order at 12:t7 p.m. with the following Board <br />members present: Jeff Hoog, Lillian Brooks, and Kathleen Edge. Also attending was Executive <br />Director Denny Head, and Legal Council T.K. Haynes. <br /> <br />Chairman Rick Poston asked for a motion to accept the minutes from the October Board of <br />Commissioner's meeting. Motion was made by Kathleen Edge and seconded by Lillian Brooks. <br />Motion was unanimous 3-0. <br /> <br />Rick Poston asked for a motion to accept Resolution 2003-11 for Terminix Termite and Pest <br />Control contract services. Motion was made by Kathleen Edge and seconded by Lillian Brooks. <br />Motion was unanimous 3-0. <br /> <br />Chairman Rick Poston asked for a motion to accept Resolution 2003-12 for Ronald Urlaub <br />Company for fee accountant services. Motion was made by Lillian Brooks and seconded by <br />Kathleen Edge. Motion was unanimous 3-0. <br /> <br />The Board of Commissioners found it necessary to obtain a curfew for the Pads Housing <br />Authority. The City of Pads will be contacted to obtain a copy of their curfew so that the Paris <br />Housing Author/ty will be in compliance with the City of Pads' curfew. The new curfew details <br />will be on the agenda for the January Board of Commissioners meeting. <br /> <br />Executive Director Denny Head informed the Board of Commissioners the importance of our <br />new security patrol. Denny informed the board of the services that the security patrol is <br />providing and the improvement in the crime rate within our sites. The board was informed that <br />the residents of public housing have expressed their satisfaction with the patrol services. <br /> <br />Denny also informed the board that in addition to the security patrol that funds can also be used <br />for a new fence in the playgrounds at the public housing sites. <br /> <br />The Railroad Commission and the Corp. of Engineers came and inspected the Pads Housing <br />Authority and found the PHA to be in excellent condition and that there were no negative <br />findings. <br /> <br />Denny informed the board that the Pads Housing Authority and Project SAVE were in need of <br />making some changes after the first of the year. Denny informed the board that the services <br />being provided by Project SAVE was not being targeted towards the youth within the sites of <br />George Wright, Booker T. Washing, Jackson Court, or Price Circle. Denny informed the Board <br />that a meeting would be scheduled for sometime in January 2003. Chairman Rick Poston asked <br />to be notified of the time and date of this meeting so that he may attend the meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />
