A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, REJECTING ALL BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A RESTROOM, RESTROOM/CONCESSION BUILDING, GATEWAY BUILDING, AND ENTRY SIGN (MASONRY, BUILDING, PLUMBING, ELECTRICAL, AND ROOFING) AS PART OF THE OVERALL COMPLETION OF PHASE I OF THE PARIS SPORTS COMPLEX PROJECT; AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT FOR NEW BIDS FOR SAID CONSTRUCTION; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 26th day of January, 1995, in Resolution No. 95-018 approve and adopt the Parks and Recreational Master Plan for the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore, on the 9th day of April, 2001, in Resolution No. 2001-044 ,authorize the preparation of plans and specification for the construction of Phase I of the Paris Sports Complex Project; and, WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore, on the 17th day of March, 2003, in Resolution No. 2003-060, approve the plans and specifications and authorize the advertisement for bids for performing all work required for construction of Phase I of the Paris Sports Complex, which bids were received until 2:00 o'clock p.m., Wednesday, the 16th day of April, 2003; and, WHEREAS, no bids were received which were within the City's budgeted cost for said project; and, WHEREAS, the City reserved the right to reject any and all bids for said project; and, WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended to the City Council the rejection of all bids and the re-advertisement for same, and the City Council desires to so authorize such action; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby in all things approved.
