DRAFT <br /> <br />F:kAttorneykALICEkRESWORK\CURRENTkAnimal Change Order No. One - Res.wpd <br /> May 9, 2003 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. ONE TO CONTRACT <br />FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW ANIMAL SHELTER; <br />ACCEPTING A DONATION OF $40,000.00 FROM THE MARY COOKE <br />ELLIS TRUST ON BEHALF OF THE LAMAR COUNTY HUMANE <br />SOCIETY IN FURTHERANCE OF SAID PROJECT; MAKING OTHER <br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 12th day of <br />August, 2002, in Resolution No. 2002-129, award the contract for the "City of Paris Animal <br />Shelter Project" to Reeves Construction Services, Inc.; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Engineer, Shawn Napier, acting as project engineer, recommends <br />the amendment of the contract for said project to reflect changes as described on Exhibit A <br />attached hereto, and providing for a net decrease of $26,674.00 in the contract price for a total <br />contract price of $414,826.00; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the form of Change Order No. One, attached hereto as Exhibit A, should, <br />in all things, be approved, and the Mayor should be authorized to execute the same; NOW, <br />THEREFORE, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the form of Change Order No. One to the Contract for the "City of Paris <br />Animal Shelter Project," attached hereto as Exhibit A, for the said project to reflect changes as <br />described on Exhibit A attached hereto, and providing for a net decrease of $26,674.00 in the <br />contract price for a total contract price of $414,826.00, be, and the same is hereby, approved. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on <br />behalf of the City of Paris, said Change Order No. One, upon the terms and conditions and in <br />the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto. <br /> <br /> <br />
