ERI Consulting, Inc. <br /> <br />-- be given to Owner in the event of any material c~%nge in, or cancellation of, <br /> <br /> such insurance. <br /> <br /> 5.8 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS A/rD PROGP3%MS: <br /> <br /> 5.8.1 The Contractor shall be responsible for initiating, maintaining and <br /> supervising safety precautions and pro,rams in connection with the <br /> Work. Unless otherwise designated in writing by the Contractor, his <br /> job superintendent shall be considered responsible for safety and <br /> protection on the job-site. The Contractor shall take reasonable <br /> precautions for the safety of, and shall provide protection to prevent <br /> <br />-- damage, injury or loss to: <br /> <br /> 5.8.1.1 All employees on the Work and all other persons who may be <br /> affected thereby. <br /> <br /> 5.8.1.2 All the Work and all materials to be incorporated therein, <br /> whether in storage on or off the site. <br /> <br /> 5.8.1.3 Other property at the site or adjacent thereto including trees, <br /> shrubs, lawns, walks, pavements, roadways, structures and <br /> <br />-- utilities not designated for removal, relocation or replacement in <br /> <br /> the course of construction. <br /> <br />_ 5.8.2 The Contractor shall comply with all applicable laws, ordinances, rules, <br /> regulations and orders of any public authority having jurisdiction for <br /> the safety of persons or property to protect them from damage, injury or <br /> loss. <br /> <br /> 5.8.3 In any emergency affecting the safety of persons or property, the <br /> <br />-- Contractor shall act, at his discretion, to prevent threatened damage, <br /> injury or loss. Any additional compensation or extension of time claimed <br />-- by the Contractor resulting from emergency work shall be considered in <br /> <br /> accordance with Article VI for Contract changes. <br /> <br /> 5.9 MATERIALS AND WORKMANSHIP: All Work shall be executed in accordance with <br /> the Contract Documents, complete in all pa,-ts and in accordance with <br /> approved practices and customs, and of the best finish and workmanship. <br /> Unless otherwise specified, all materials and equipment incorporated in the <br /> Work under the Contract shall be new. <br /> <br /> 5.10 TESTS: If the Contract Documents, laws, ordinances, rules, regulations or <br /> orders of any public authority having jurisdiction require any work to be <br />-- inspected, tested or approved, the Contractor shall give the <br /> Engineer/Project Manager timely notice of its readiness and of the date <br /> arranged so the Engineer/Project Manager may observe such inspection, <br /> testing or approval.
