ERI Consulting, Inc. <br /> <br /> 1.1.9 Air Sampling Professional Ail air sampling performed within the <br /> state of Texas that is performed in public buildings shall be <br /> performed by a licensed air monitoring technician. The professional <br /> contracted or employed by the Building Ova%er to supervise and/or <br /> conduct air monitoring and analysis schemes. This individual may also <br /> function as the Asbestos Project Manager, if qualified. Supervision <br /> of air sampling and evaluation of results should be performed by an <br /> individual certified in the Comprehensive Practice of Industrial <br /> Hygiene (C.I.H.) and having specialized experience in air sampling for <br /> asbestos. Other acceptable Air Sampling Professionals include <br /> environmental engineers, architects, chemists and environmental <br /> scientists or others with equivalent experience in asbestos air <br /> monitoring. This individual shall not be affiliated in any way other <br /> than through this contract with the Contractor performing the <br /> abatement work. <br /> <br /> 1.1.10 Amended Water - Water to which a surfactant has been added. <br /> <br /> 1.1.11 ANSI - American National Standards Institute, 1430 Broadway, New <br /> York, New York 10018. <br /> <br /> 1.1.12 Asbestos The asbestiform varieties of chrysotile, amosite, <br /> crocidolite, tremolite, anthophyllite, and actinolite and all <br /> materials containing one percent or more of any of those substances. <br /> <br /> 1.1.13 Asbestos Abatement - The removal, the encapsulation or the enclosure <br /> of asbestos for the purpose of, that has the effect of, reducing or <br /> eliminating airborne concentrations of asbestos fibers or amounts of <br /> ACM. <br /> <br /> 1.1.14 Asbestos Abatement Activity - Asbestos abatement, any on-site <br /> preparations or clean-up related to the abatement. <br /> <br /> 1.1.15 Asbestos Abatement Contractor - A person who undertakes to perform <br /> asbestos removal, enclosure, or encapsulation for others under <br /> contract or other agreement, or who bids to undertake asbestos <br /> activities. <br /> <br /> 1.1.16 Asbestos Abatement Supervisor - An individual who is in the direct <br /> and responsible charge of the personnel, practices, and procedures <br /> of an asbestos abatement operation or project. <br /> <br /> 1.1.17 Asbestos-Containing Material (ACM) Materials or products that <br /> contain more than one percent (1.0%) of any kind or combination of <br /> asbestos, as determined by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) <br /> recommended methods as listed in 40 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) <br /> <br />4/11/03 24 <br /> <br /> <br />
