TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS <br /> .2 Description of Work <br /> <br /> 1.2.1 The work specified herein shall be the Removal and/or Encapsulation <br /> and/or Enclosure and/or Repair of Thermal and/or Surfacing and/or <br /> Miscellaneous Asbestos Containing Materials (abatement) by competent <br /> persons trained, knowledgeable and qualified in the techniques of <br /> abatement, handling and disposal of asbestos containing and asbestos <br /> contaminated materials and the subsequent cleaning of contaminated <br /> areas, who comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local <br /> regulations and are capable of and willing to perform the work of <br /> this Contract. <br /> <br /> 1.2.1.1 This Scope of work, Section 1.1 of the Technical <br /> Specifications, shall take precedence over all the <br /> descriptions of work practices except the mandatory sections <br /> of the regulations. <br /> 1.2.2 This project requires abatement of ACM by the following methods: <br /> 1.2.2.1 Thermal insulation and/or Lagging - Wet method, glove bag <br /> procedure and/or mini-enclosure and/or full containment. <br /> <br /> 1.2.2.2 Surfacing material - Wet method, full containment and/or a <br /> mini-enclosure. <br /> <br /> 1.2.2.3 Miscellaneous material - Wet method, full containment and/or <br /> a mini-enclosure. <br /> <br /> 1.2.3 The Contractor shall supply all labor, materials, services, <br /> insurance, permits and equipment necessary to carry out the work in <br /> accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations <br /> and these specifications including general, supplementary and special <br /> conditions. <br /> <br /> 1.2.4 The Contractor is responsible for restoring the work area and <br /> auxiliary areas utilized during the abatement to conditions equal to <br /> or better than original. Any damages caused during the performance <br /> of abatement activities shall be repaired by the Contractor <br /> paint peeled off by barrier tape, nail holes, water damage, broken <br /> glass) at no additional expense to the Building Owner. <br /> <br /> 1.3 Applicable Standards and Guidelines <br /> <br /> 1.3.1 General requirements <br /> <br /> 1.3.1.1 All work under this contract shall be done in strict <br /> accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local <br /> regulations, standards and codes governing asbestos abatement <br /> <br /> <br />
