MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION Monday, April 21, 2003 3:00 P.M. Chad Brown called the Building and Standards Commission Meeting to order at 3:00P.M. Brad Archer called the roll. The following members were present: Chad Brown Mary Crumpler Brad Archer Harrell Tippitt Pike Burkhart The following members were absent: Tommy Robinson Mark Rothfuss Vic Ressler Billy Hill Ward Hall Lucius Joe, Jr. Approval of Minutes of January 27, 2003: A motion was made by Chad Brown to approve the meeting minutes, and Harrell Tippitt seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Pass out to members of the Commission the adopted rules to conduct meetings and public hearings: John Lestock, Assistant City Attorney, presented the rules to the Commission. Mr. Lestock and Mr. Haynes led the Commission in discussion and interaction regarding the rules as they were previously approved. Status on identification of burned out homes for possible demolition: Tommy Haynes passed out case files of several burned out homes for the review of the Commission. These files were presented to demonstrate the types of cases that would be reviewed in the near future. Some of the cases presented were to be further reviewed for historical significance and for Owner location. This more detailed review will be necessary to ensure that the first cases reviewed by the Commission will be successful. It is hoped that the success of these cases will demonstrate the effectiveness of the Building and Standards Commission.
