MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF <br />MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD <br /> <br /> WEDNESDAY, MARCH 19, 2003 2:00 P.M. <br />CITY OF PARIS, PUBLIC WORKS CONFERENCE ROOM <br /> <br />Present Board Members: Barbara Wilson, Karen Wilkerson, David House, Zach <br />Saffle, Patsy Davis <br />Absent: Bill Payne, Linda Suarez, Lisa Spann, Linda Ryan, Marry Ann Chalaire, <br />Suzy Harper <br /> <br />Discussion of the streetscape light pole proposal - Terry began discussion by <br />stating the approximate pricing of $2,950 for a 14' cast aluminum pole, 5" <br />diameter smooth shaft with two banner arms, flag pole bracket, internal <br />receptacle prismatic glass acorn with lunar optics to reduce up-light, anchor <br />bolts and finish to be determined. The advisory board unanimously decided to <br />recommend the 5" diameter, 14' smooth finish poles. <br /> <br />Discussion of historic district sign placement - Terry advised that he would <br />have a map created and we should table the item at this meeting and make the <br />decision at the next meeting as to sign placement. <br /> <br />Discussion of public hearing - Terry Townsend advised that the public hearing <br />was scheduled for April 3rd. Barbara Wilson advised that all owners in the <br />proposed historic district will receive a certified letter that will be mailed <br />tomorrow with certifications, a map showing where their lot and block is in the <br />district. She advised that it will also contain information about the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Discussion of 2003 Annual Historic Preservation Conference - Preservation <br />conference was discussed and Barbara Wilson will be attending representing <br />Paris Main Street. <br /> <br />Other- It was suggested that Main Street request Planning and Zoning consider <br />a different kind of zoning for property in the downtown area. Terry suggested <br />that we can make the recommendation but the property owners would have to <br />come forward. <br /> <br /> <br />
