MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF <br />MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD <br /> <br /> WEDNESDAY, APRIL 23, 2003 3:00 PM <br />CITY OF PARIS, PUBLIC WORKS CONFERENCE ROOM <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />Present Board Members: Karen Wilkerson, Barbara Wilson, Patsy Davis, Linda <br />Suarez, Zach Saffle <br />Absent: David House, Bill Payne, Lisa Spann, Linda Ryan, Marry Ann Chalaire, Suzy <br />Harper <br /> <br />Call meeting to order and review minutes: Terry Townsend called meeting to order and <br />asked if there were any comments about the minutes. There were none. <br /> <br />Discuss Heritage Park Master Plan: Terry advised the parking plans are complete and <br />the project should commence soon. Terry suggested a historical type fountain be <br />installed at Heritage Park. The future park pavilion was discussed. Barbara Wilson <br />suggested that a master plan be posted at various places so residents may have an <br />opportunity to participate. <br /> <br />Discussion regarding April 3 Public Hearing: Terry will construct a draft letter from <br />the Main Street Board to the Main Street property owners regarding our new historic <br />districts and new ordinances. <br /> <br />Discuss Historical District sign placement: Board decided to place signs on S. Church; <br />1st S.W.; W. Washington & 6th S.W.; Bonham at the Depot on the East side of the <br />tracks; N. Main & Pine Bluff; Lamar & 3rd S.E.; Austin & 8th N.E. <br /> <br />Review of Parking Map: Discussed various areas in which Free Parking signs could be <br />placed around downtown area. Terry will create a comprehensive map of free <br />downtown parking and get samples of Free Parking signs for board's review. <br /> <br />Discuss spring fashion show April 26th: Maria is taking care of getting the Coke trailer <br />to the downtown area for the fashion show. <br /> <br />Discuss crosswalks and border colors for streetscape project: Terry advised board <br />members should choose patterns, colors, border and border colors for streetscape <br />project. <br /> <br />Discuss Farmers Market: Judy Ambs was not present at meeting therefore, Farmers <br />Market was not discussed. <br /> <br />Other: Terry advised board that the Coke trailer is now owned by the City. Terry will <br />contact Forest Signs regarding more permanent advertising such as painting on the <br />Coke trailer. Terry will also contact Main Street in Austin for a conceptual drawing <br />of a pocket park. <br /> <br /> <br />
