DRAFT <br /> F:~Attorney\Lisa~esolutions\CURRENT\Sports Complex Awd Contract #S.wpd <br /> May 9, 2003 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br /> PARIS, TEXAS, AWARDING THE BID FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A <br /> RESTROOM, RESTROOM/CONCESSION BUILDING, GATEWAY <br /> BUILDING, AND ENTRY SIGN (MASONRY, BUILDING, PLUMBING, <br /> ELECTRICAL, AND ROOFING) AS PART OF THE OVERALL <br /> COMPLETION OF PHASE I OF THE PARIS SPORTS COMPLEX <br /> PROJECT; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT FOR <br /> SAID CONSTRUCTION; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS <br /> RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 26th day of <br />January, 1995, in Resolution No. 95-018 approve and adopt the Parks and Recreational Master <br />Plan for the City of Paris; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore, on the 9th day of April, 2001, in Resolution <br />No. 2001-044, authorize the preparation of plans and specification for the construction of Phase <br />I of the Paris Sports Complex Project; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore, on the 17th day of March, 2003, in <br />Resolution No. 2003-060, approve the plans and specifications and authorize the advertisement <br />for bids for performing all work required for construction of Phase I of the Paris Sports <br />Complex, which bids were received until 2:00 o'clock p.m., Wednesday, the 16th day of April, <br />2003; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, no bids were received which were within the City's budgeted cost for that <br />portion of the project providing for the construction ofa restroom, restroom/concession building, <br />gateway building, and entry sign (masonry, building, plumbing, electrical, and roofing); and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore, on the 12th day of May, 2003, in <br />Resolution No. 2003-084, reject all bids and authorize the re-advertisement for bids for <br />performing all work required for construction of the aforesaid restrooms and associated <br />appurtenances, which bids were received until 3:00 o'clock p.m., Wednesday, the 1 lth day of <br />June, 2003; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the best bid for construction of the restroom, restroom/concession building, <br />gateway building, and entry sign (masonry, building, plumbing, electrical, and roofing) was <br />made by GEAUX Corporation of Tyler, Texas, and it should be awarded the bid for the same; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br /> <br />
