The second item was a request for a Stop Sign on 5th Street SW at West
Sherman Street, stopping South bound traffic at West Sherman.

This request came from a resident of the area who stated that there were
numerous small children in the area who often play in the street and the
parents have been unable to keep them out of the street.

Assistant Chief Barnett said he had been through the area at least four times
and children were in the street on all but one time. Since this is a T
intersection and the law requires traffic on SW 5th Street to stop for traffic on
West Sherman that this Stop Sign is recommended.

Rickey Macky made a motion to recommend the sign be placed as
requested.
Ed Seidle seconded and the motion carried 7 ayes to 0 nays.

There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 5:25 P.M.

James Barnett
Assistant Chief of Police
