City of Paris Historic Resources Survey 2003 Phase 2 - Page 4 Task 2.2 -- Presentation of Comprehensive Data Collection Ail photographs, photo index sheets and survey forms will be assembled and organized for fmal presentation. A CD and pr/hr-outs of all electronic images will be provided with the report. Thc ARCHITEXAS team will be available to make appropriate presentations of the survey findings and report on a previously-arranged basis. As stated earlier, public meetings and input are an important part of the survey process. All electronic data collected will be forwarded to the Texas Historical Commission for inclusion in the Texas Historic Sites Atlas. Task 3 - City of Paris Historic Preservation Plan Task 3.1 - Public Education/Outreach Under the direction and guidance of the PHPC, ARCHITEXAS will conduct a predetermined number of meetings to educate governmental and community groups about the findings of the survey and the Preservation Planning Process. For the purpose of this proposal, one such meeting is included. Additional meetings may be conducted at the request of the PHPC for an additional fee. Task 3.2 - Preservation Plan Development Outline ARCHITEXAS will meet with the PHPC to discuss the goals of the Paris Preservation Plan and determine the program areas to be covered in the plan. Such program areas might include, but are not limited to, city historic districts, city conservation districts, commercial and residential design and development guidelines, local tax and financial incentives, and city marker programs. The preservation of the city's historic and cultural heritage is also an important element to achieve increased economic development. Oppommities for economic development in association with historic preservation for Paris, such as regional tourism, will be explored and identified. These discussions will be utilized in the active development of an outline for the Paris Preservation Plan. The outline will then be distributed to all PHPC board members for review and comment. Task 3.3 - Paris, Texas, Historic Preservation Plan Based on the goals outlined in Task 4.2, the Paris, Texas Historic Preservation Plan will be drafted. The written draft will include city preservation standards developed according to the goals of the PHPC and, where appropriate, will include illustrations and examples
