DRAFT <br /> F:LISA\Resolutions\CURRENT~Budget He~'ing Res - 2003 <br /> August 11, 2003 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br /> PARIS, TEXAS, SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE CITY <br /> MANAGER'S PROPOSED BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2003-2004; <br /> MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE <br /> SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Paris has furnished to the City Council at <br />regular session convened on the 7th day of August, 2003, the City Manager's proposed budget as <br />directed by Section 45 of the Charter of the City of Paris; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Manager did file the proposed budget with the City Clerk of the City <br />of Paris on the 7th day of August, 2003, in accordance with Vernon's Texas Codes Annotated, <br />Local Government Code, Section 102.005(a); and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 50 of the Charter, a public hearing must be held <br />giving all interested persons an opportunity to be heard for or against any item or the amount of <br />any item therein contained; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, an appropriate date and time for said public hearing is found to be the 25th <br />day of August, 2003, at 6:00 p.m., which date is at least fifteen (15) days after the date the <br />proposed budget was filed with the City Clerk in accordance with Vernon's Texas Codes <br />Annotated, Local Government Code, Section 102.006(b); NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That a public hearing be, and the same is hereby, called for the 25th day of <br />August, 2003, at 6:00 p.m. in the Paris Junior College Applied Technology Building, Room 1206, <br />2400 Clarksville Street, Paris, Texas, for the purpose of hearing written and oral comments from <br />the citizens of Paris concerning the City Manager's proposed annual budget for fiscal year 2003- <br />2004. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That the City Clerk of the City of Paris publish notice of said public hearing <br />in the Paris News on the 13th day of August, 2003, setting forth the time and place of said public <br />hearing, which public hearing date is no sooner than the tenth (10th) day after said publication <br /> <br /> <br />
