Regular City Council Meeting <br />June 16, 2003 <br />Page 25 <br /> <br />Councilman Plata said he would like to see the request for proposals for the <br />Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants and all of the others, Water Billing, <br />Water Distribution, but not Lift Station. Mayor Fendley stated that it might be <br />something the Council would want to look at, but at this time the Council <br />needed to address the rate issue and we have budgeting coming up, it may be <br />something that they could look at in 90 days. Councilman Plata said he was not <br />recommending holding it up, but he would like to see the proposals. <br /> <br />Mayor Fendley suggested that this be placed on the September agenda. <br /> <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem McCarthy, seconded <br />by Councilman Weekly, to place this back on the agenda in 90 days <br />(September). The motion carried 6 ayes, 1 nay, Councilman Plata voting no. <br /> <br />Mayor Fendley advised that the next item was a resolution accepting the findings <br />of a Water and Sewer Rate Study performed by Reed, Stowe & Yanke, Inc., and <br />authorizing the implementation of said rates for certain contracted water <br />customers, and he needed a motion to bring this from the table. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Councilman Weekly, seconded by Councilwoman <br />Neeley, to bring the above item from the table. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 <br />nays. <br /> <br />City Attorney Schenk informed the Council that the item that they previously <br />had was for all contracted customers and they have removed Campbell Soup <br />from this listing and that would be intending bring back to the City Council a <br />new contract with Campbell Soup. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2003-108, accepting the findings of the Water and Sewer Rate <br />Study performed by Reed, Stowe, Yanke, Inc.; authorizing the implementation <br />of said rates for certain contracted water customers, was presented. A motion <br />was made by Councilwoman Neeley, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem McCarthy, <br />for approval of the resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br /> <br /> <br />
