MODELS OF THE MAKER <br /> <br /> How project differs from other projects addressing the same problem. <br /> Models of the Maker is the only organization in this community seeking to serve this population of <br /> homeless women. <br /> <br /> The unique contribution of Models of the Maker <br /> <br /> · Committed and Kind Volunteer force <br /> · Heartfelt Commitment <br /> · Strong Community Support <br /> · Warm and inviting Shelter <br /> · Long Term Services <br /> · Mentorship Program <br /> <br />Cindy Bowlin is an ordained minister who has worked for the Texas Department of Criminal <br />Justice. Ms. Bowlin has been involved in the substance abuse field as a treatment specialist <br />and counselor. In addition to these experiences, Ms. Bowlin worked three years for a victim <br />services program. Cindy is well connected with the Paris community and is receiving solid <br />support to provide services to homeless women in this northeast Texas area. <br /> <br /> Models of the Maker is requesting $10,000 from the City of Paris for 2003/2004. <br /> <br /> Our shelter struggles to meet its commitments monthly. The city's support of $10,000 will allow <br /> the organization to meet our operational expenses and be able to pay the rent and keep the <br /> lights on! <br /> <br /> <br />
