She also said everyone had the right to breathe smoke free air. <br />Crystal Prince — she said she worked for the American Cancer Society and everyone <br />knew that smoking causes cancer and all types of health problems. She said that she lived in <br />Texarkana, which had a no smoking restriction for years. She also said the restaurants were full <br />of people. <br />Troy Jones, Jr. — he said he worked at the Sunset Lounge and they should not tell the <br />owners what to do. <br />Patrick Durham, owner of Red River Saloon and Ramada Inn — he said smoking should <br />be allowed, because if not there would be a negative effect on the economy. <br />Name not given, 4001 Lakeshore — she said she moved to Paris from Colorado and <br />fifteen years ago when Colorado instituted a smoking ban that the economy went down. She <br />said she was against the smoking ordinance and the free market would take care of it. <br />Gaven Holje, Crockett Jr High School student — he said he had asthma and would not go <br />to a restaurant that allowed smoking, because he could not breathe. <br />Dr. Amanda Green — she said when something was shown to be for the common good <br />that it should be enacted. She asked the Council to do what was right and just. <br />Dr. Ted McLemore, 2775 -41 st S.E. — he said the Center for Disease control recommended <br />a nationwide mandate, because second hand smoke not only affects adults, but children too. He <br />asked for a commitment to support the smoking ordinance. <br />Andrew Mural, an employee of Vaporffics - he asked Council to distinguish between the <br />e- cigarettes and cigarettes. <br />Name not given - he thinks the ordinance should be amended to take out e- cigarettes. <br />Dr. Cliff Kerby, 230 34th NE - he said he supported the ordinance, that some children <br />were not represented and some parents may not be aware of the dangers of second hand smoke. <br />Crystal, 603 S.W. 3rd — she questioned shouldn't employees be allowed to smoke and said <br />it should be up to the business or individual. <br />
