Item Six: Commission members discussed wording and content of a proposed letter to property owners <br />and merchants in the Downtown Historic District. It was agreed that the letter should address the following <br />points: <br /> <br />1. Communicate to property owners in the district that the new ordinance is now in effect. <br /> <br />2. Enumerate the processes and steps necessary when property owners wish to begin exterior renovations <br />or additions to their buildings or properties. <br /> <br />3. Include another copy of the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Historic Preservation in the letter. <br /> <br />4. Identify the proper City of Paris staff contact for any property owners that are considering exterior <br />renovations or additions to their buildings or properties. <br /> <br />It was agreed that City staff would begin drafting the necessary application forms for the Certificate of <br />Appropriateness. A motion was made that the Commission recommend drafting and mailing a letter to <br />Downtown Historical District property owners as enumerated above. The motion was made by Barbara <br />Wilson and seconded by Becki Norment. The motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Item Seven: Commission members discussed the recently-installed building-mounted signage on the south <br />facade of the Moore Law Firm building on East Houston Street. It was decided to table any action on this <br />item at this time. A motion to this effect was made by Claudia Hunt and seconded by Barbara Wilson. <br />The motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Item Eight: Shawn Napier, City Engineer presented a revised site plan of Heritage Park, dated 4/23/03 for <br />the Commission's review and approval. A motion for site plan approval was made by Paul Denney and <br />seconded by Sue Lancaster. The motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Item Nine: No action was taken on this item. <br /> <br />Item Ten: A motion was made for adjournment by Paul Denney.
