Library Advisory Board
September 17, 2003
Page 2
There was no children's programming in August; therefore, no report was
made. Children's programming resumes in September.

In adult outreach, there were 2 programs which 31 people attended. There
were 33 interlibrary loans. Items were delivered to four homebound
patrons. We had 45 memorials given for a total of $945

Callie Thompson reported that the Fall Program will take place on
Tuesday, October 7 at the Paris Golf and Country Club. The
program will include local vocalists performing duets. The cost is $20
and includes lunch.

In the Director's Report, Betty discussed several items. The shelving is
almost finished! We are lacking some end panels and a small section of
wood shelving for the audio room. The Large Print books have all been
shifted. The library received a free spinner rack for Large Print books
from Random House; it will be used to display new Large Print books.
The children's videos are being moved into the video room to make room
for books. The library will present a workshop on repairing audio and
video cassettes, as well as minor book repairs, on October 11 from 2-4 p.m.
in the Gallery. There will be a NETLS meeting on October 15 in
Jacksonville. No changes were made in the library's budget for the coming
year. Betty did not ask for any additional money, but set aside about $6000
for a new air conditioning unit which will probably have to be replace this
coming year.

Board member, Peggy Guthrie, talked about wanting to do a program for
next year's Hispanic Heritage Month, which takes place every September.
She would like to work with Emily on a puppet show and treats to
celebrate.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:46 p.m.

The next meeting will be held on October 22 at 4 p.m. in the Gallery.

Vicky Terlap Date Approved
