Item Five: A public hearing was conducted regarding the proposed adoption of regulations <br />applicable to and the designation of a Downtown Historic District. The following citizens spoke <br />in favor of the proposed designation and regulations: <br />Ruth Ann Alsobrook <br />7ean Campbell <br />Linda Suarez <br />Garvey House <br />Pike Burkhart <br />Linda Vandiver <br />Bill Payne <br />Lavonne Slough Poteet <br />Ann Harper <br />The following citizen spoke in favor but suggested changes: <br />George Preston <br />The following citizens were neutral but expressed concerns or posed questions: <br />Carl Harcrow <br />Peter Hogenkamp <br />Charles Waldrum <br />Linda Wolfe <br />The following citizens spoke in opposition to the proposed designation and regulations: <br />Ted Brown <br />Sybil Colson <br />Freddy Swaim <br />Bill Bone <br />Gene Rader <br />After these comments were received, the public hearing was closed. <br />Item Six: A motion was made by Barbara Wilson to approve the boundaries of the Downtown <br />Historic District for recommendation to be forwarded to the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />The motion was seconded by Sue Lancaster and the motion was carried unanimously. <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />Apri13, 2003 Meeting <br />
