Regular City Council Meeting <br />August 11,2003 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />some little kid is going to get injured or worse because of the speeders coming <br />down that street. He said a stop sign would be inconvenient for him, but it <br />needs to be there. <br /> <br />Karl Louis, Police Chief, said he would prefer that if a change is made for the <br />sake of safety then make this a 4-way stop as Simpson is a through street. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman Guest, for <br />adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2003-035 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF <br />THE CITY OF PARIS BE AMENDED BY REVISING THE TRAFFIC <br />CONTROL MAP ADOPTED IN PARAGRAPH (b) OF SECTION 31-65 OF <br />SAID CODE BY PLACING STOP SIGNS AT 28TM STREET N.W. AT W. <br />CAMPBELL STREET STOPPING NORTH - AND SOUTH-BOUND <br />TRAFFIC; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; <br />MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE <br />SUBJECT; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES <br />IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF <br />SEPTEMBER 1, 2003, WAS PRESENTED. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem McCarthy, seconded by Councilman <br />Weekly, for adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br /> <br />Mayor Fendley declared the public hearing open to receive input from the <br />citizens of Paris regarding local participation in the expenditures of funds under <br />the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant awarded to the City of Paris. <br /> <br />No one appeared and the public hearing was declared closed. <br /> <br /> <br />
