RESOLUTION NO. 2014 -012 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS APPROVING A PRIVATE RE -SALE OF BID -OFF TAX PROPERTIES TO RAYMOND ETHRIDGE OR HIS DESIGNEE; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Tract 19, identified in Exhibit "A" (the "Re -Sale Property ") is a parcel of real property which was bid off to the City of Paris as trustee for itself, Lamar County, Paris ISD and Paris Junior College at a public tax sale conducted on April 1, 2014; and WHEREAS, Texas Property Tax Code Section 34.05(1) provides that the Re -Sale Property may be sold by private sale in lieu of a public sale under Texas Property Tax Code Section 34.05(c) & (d) with the approval of all taxing units entitled to receive proceeds from the sale, being the City of Paris, Lamar County, Paris ISD and Paris Junior College; and WHEREAS, Mr. Raymond Ethridge (the "Purchaser ") has made an offer to purchase the Re -Sale Property for $250.00 (the "Private Sale "); NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED by the City Council of Paris, Texas, that: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. The Purchaser's offer is accepted and the Private Sale is hereby approved. Section 3. Subject to the Private Sale also being approved by Lamar County, Paris ISD and Paris Junior College, the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a tax deed conveying the Re -Sale Property to the Purchaser or his designee. Section 4. The proceeds of the Private Sale shall be distributed in accordance with the Texas Property Tax Code and the orders of the District Courts of Lamar County, Texas. PASSED AND APPROVED this 14th day of April, 2014.
