RESOLUTION NO. 2014 -015 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS; <br />APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR AN AUTOMOBILE BURGLARY & <br />THEFT PREVENTION AUTHORIZING GRANT FOR CONTINUATION OF <br />THE NORTHEAST TEXAS AUTO THEFT TASK FORCE; THE TOTAL OF THE <br />GRANT IS EXPECTED TO BE $129,501.00 WITH A CASH MATCH FROM <br />THE CITY TOTALING $49,744.00 ALONG WITH A $1,000.00 "IN- KIND" <br />MATCH IN THE 2014 -2015 POLICE BUDGET FOR A TOTAL OF <br />$180,245.00; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF ANY AND ALL <br />DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR ACCEPTANCE AND IMPLEMENTATION OF <br />SAID GRANT UPON NOTICE THEREOF; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND <br />PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the Texas Automobile Theft Prevention Authority provides funding for <br />automobile theft prevention grants; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris desires to apply for an Automobile <br />Burglary & Theft Prevention Grant entitled "Northeast Texas Automobile Theft Task Force" <br />project beginning September 1, 2014 and ending August 31, 2015, in the amount of <br />$129,501.00 including a cash match from the city totaling $49,744.00 along with a <br />$1,000.00 "in- kind" match in the 2014 -2015 Police Budget, for continuation of our existing <br />Auto Theft Task Force; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager, Police Chief, and <br />other appropriate City staff to make application, accept and implement said grant (if same <br />is received) without further action of City Council. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS, THAT: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby <br />in all things approved. <br />Section 2. That an application to the Texas Automobile Burglary & Theft <br />Prevention Authority be made and approved for an Automobile Theft Prevention Grant <br />entitled "Northeast Texas Automobile Theft Task Force" project for the year beginning <br />September 1, 2014 and ending August 31, 2015, in the amount of $129,501.00 with a cash <br />match from the city totaling $49,744.00 along with a $1,000.00 in -kind match" in the <br />2014 -2015 Police Budget. <br />Section 3. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, appointed as the <br />Authorized Official of said project and is authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of <br />the City of Paris, an application for said grant. <br />
