intended to pay Hearne Street out of cash reserve. <br />President Wall called for the Director's report. <br />Mr. Vest showed the Board a postcard regarding Paris and advised that they have <br />mailed about 20,000 of them. He said most of them were mailed to people that <br />registered at the food show that he and Erik attended. Mr. Vest said they did use <br />the Creative Innovative Group to help with the mail. He said that they are getting <br />a lot of calls regarding the cards. <br />Mr. Vest said they have had two projects that they have submitted through the <br />Governor's office. One is Project Glow, which is a meat processing company. <br />They were looking for a site and they submitted the Industrial Park. Mr. Vest said <br />it is a 500 job operation, but they do not know anything at this point in time. He <br />said the other proj ect was the Proj ect PBB, which manufactures small steel tubing <br />and is a lot smaller. He advised they submitted the Oliver Rubber Building and the <br />Superior Building. Mr. Vest said there was another proj ect they submitted, but they <br />were eliminated on transportation. Our proposal was not accepted. <br />President Wall informed the PEDC Board that they are having a reception for <br />Bobby Littlefield, the new District Engineer for TxDOT, to introduce him to the <br />public. They set a date and announced it at the Chamber yesterday as January 15, <br />2004, but as of today, they have moved it forward to Tuesday, January 13, 2004, <br />from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Chamber office. He advised that they will be <br />inviting multi-counties; the whole area is coming in and Mr. Littlefield is going to <br />have all of his area engineers coming in from all of the nine counties. He advised <br />that Lawrence Olson with Texas Good Roads and Commissioner Nichols will be <br />present for the reception. President Wall advised that Commissioner Nichols is <br />going to solicit grass-roots support for the new Federal Highway Bill and bring <br />everyone up-to-date on how that is going. <br />Resolution No. 2003-014, a resolution of the Board of Directors of the Paris <br />Economic Development Corporation, awarding the bids and authorizing the <br />execution of a contract for the construction and installation of paving and drainage <br />facilities and water and wastewater facilities at the Paris Industrial Park, was <br />presented by City Attorney Schenk. <br />A motion was made by Director Severson, seconded by Director Norment, for <br />approval of the resolution. The motion carried unanimously. <br />
