MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />October 13, 2003 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met in regular session, Monday, October <br />13, 2003, 6:00 P.M. at Paris Junior College, Bobby R. Walters Applied <br />Technology Building Room 1206, 2400 Clarksville Street, Paris, Texas. <br />Mayor Curtis Fendley called the meeting to order with the following Council <br />Members present: Jim Bell, Joe E. McCarthy, Francine Neeley, Willie Weekly, <br />Sr., and Benny Plata. Also present were City Manager Michael E. Malone, <br />City Attorney Larry W. Schenk, and City Clerk Mattie Cunningham. <br />City Manager Malone presented the minutes of the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission of October 6, 2003, and they are hereby attached to these minutes <br />as Exhibit A. <br />Mayor Fendley declared the public hearing open to consider the petition of the <br />City of Paris Historic Preservation Commission to designate an Historic <br />Structure and an Historic Overlay District (HD) on the Paris Santa Fe-Frisco <br />Depot Property, being number 1125 Bonham Street. <br />Steve Methven, Building Official for the City of Paris, advised that this is going <br />to take in the Depot site that has just been renovated where the Chamber of <br />Commerce is presently located. It will be included in the Historical Overlay <br />District as a stand alone for that building in order for it to be protected. <br />No one else appeared and the public hearing was declared closed. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2003-045 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 17810 OF THE <br />CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES <br />ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; DESIGNATING <br />THE PARIS SANTA-FE FRISCO DEPOT AS AN HISTORIC STRUCTURE <br />AND ESTABLISHING AN HISTORIC OVERLAY DISTRICT (HD) ON THE <br />PARIS SANTA-FE FRISCO DEPOT PROPERTY IN ACCORDANCE WITH <br />
