A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE REHABILITATION AND RECONSTRUCTION OF THE CITY HALL AND CENTRAL FIRE STATION BUILDING; AUTHORIZING THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR SAID CONSTRUCTION; AUTHORIZING A PERSONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH JERRY L. HANING FOR CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT SERVICES; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 28th day of February, 2000, in Ordinance No. 2000-012, authorize the issuance of City of Paris, Texas, Combination Tax and Revenue Certificates of Obligation, Series 2000, to, among other things, improve and renovate the City Hall and Central Fire Station building, together with renovation of that portion of that building which houses the Central Fire Station into City Council chambers, offices and related facilities; and, WHEREAS, in furtherance of this project, the City did heretofore select Denny Architects, Inc. to provide architectural services for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the City Hall and adjacent Old Fire Station; and, WHEREAS, plans and specifications have been prepared by Denny Architects, Inc., with the title being given thereto of the "Rehabilitation and Reconstruction of the City Hall and Adjacent Old Fire Station Project," which plans and specifications are recommended for approval by said architects; and, WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that such plans and specifications be approved and that such project be authorized for advertisement for bids; and, WHEREAS, it is further deemed appropriate that the City enter into a personal services agreement with Jerry L. Haning for construction management services on said project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved.
