<br />RESOLUTION NO.
<br />
<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE MAIN STREET
<br />ADVISORY BOARD; ESTABLISHING STAGGERED THREE (3) YEAR
<br />TERMS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO
<br />THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the terms of office of Pike Burkhart, Patsy Davis, Bailey Gant, Suzy Harper,
<br />Renee Harvey, David House, Cari Johnson, Zachary Saffle, Linda Suarez, Karen Wilkerson, and
<br />Barbara Wilson, as members of the Main Street Advisory Board of the City of Paris, will expire
<br />on March 31, 2004; and,
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, presently, the terms of all eleven (11) Board members expire at the same
<br />time, and in order to help assure some consistency on the Board, it is deemed appropriate that
<br />the terms of the reappointed or newly appointed members be staggered from this point forward;
<br />and,
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris does hereby recommend the reappointment
<br />of Pike Burkhart, Patsy Davis, Bailey Gant, Suzy Harper, Renee Harvey, David House, Cari
<br />Johnson, Zachary Saffle, Linda Suarez, Karen Wilkerson, and Barbara Wilson for terms of one
<br />(1), two (2) and three (3) years, beginning April 1,2004, and ending March 31, 2005, March 31,
<br />2006, and March 31, 2007, respectively; provided, however, that each of the reappointed or
<br />newly appointed Board members shall determine, by the drawing of lots, three (3) members
<br />whose first full term shall be one (1) year in duration, four (4) members whose first full term
<br />shall be two (2) years in duration, and four (4) members whose first full term shall be three (3)
<br />years in duration, and the staggered three (3) year terms thereby established shall thereafter be
<br />maintained; NOW, THEREFORE,

<br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
<br />TEXAS:

<br /> Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all
<br />things approved.
<br />
<br /> Section 2. That Pike Burkhart, Patsy Davis, Bailey Gant, Suzy Harper, Renee Harvey,
<br />David House, Cari Johnson, Zachary Saffle, Linda Suarez, Karen Wilkerson, and Barbara
<br />Wilson be, and they are hereby, reappointed to serve as members of the Main Street Advisory
<br />Board for terms of one (1), two (2), and three (3) years, beginning April 1, 2004, and ending
<br />March 31, 2005, March 31, 2006, and March 31, 2007, respectively; provided, however, that
<br />each of the reappointed or newly appointed Board members shall determine, by the drawing of
<br />lots, three (3) members whose first full term shall be one (1) year in duration, four (4) members
<br />whose first full term shall be two (2) years in duration, and four (4) members whose first full
<br />term shall be three (3) years in duration, and the staggered three (3) year terms thereby
<br />established shall thereafter be maintained.

<br />Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
