DRAFT F:\Attorney\Lisa\Resolutions\CURRENT\Lamar Ave Water-Sewer Lines.wpd February 16, 2004 RESOLUTION NO. _______________ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF LAMAR AVENUE UTILITY REPLACEMENT PROJECT FROM 20TH STREET N.E. (F.M. 195) TO N. COLLEGIATE DRIVE; AUTHORIZING THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR SAID CONSTRUCTION; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 8th day of September, 2003, in Resolution No. 2003-149, express support for the TxDOT project to widen Lamar Avenue between 20th Street N.E. and North Collegiate Drive; agree to fund 15% of the costs for the purchase of rights-of-way and any costs related thereto and agree to replace existing water and sewer lines in the Lamar Avenue right-of-way as a part of said street widening project; and authorize the City Manager, City Attorney, and City Engineer to undertake any and all actions reasonably necessary, including where appropriate obtaining appraisals and other actions, to participate in the acquisition of the property to be used for said street widening project; and, WHEREAS, plans and specifications have been prepared by the City Engineer, with the title being given thereto of the "Lamar Avenue Utility Replacement Project" from 20th Street N.E. (F.M. 195) to N. Collegiate Drive, which plans and specifications are recommended for approval; and, WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that such plans and specifications be approved and NOW, THEREFORE, such projects should be authorized for advertisement for bids; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the plans and specifications for the "Lamar Avenue Utility Replacement Project" from 20th Street N.E. (F.M. 195) to Collegiate Drive be, and the same are hereby, approved. Section 3. That such construction project be advertised for bids to be received after due notice at the office of the City Manager of the City of Paris, City Hall, 135 1st Street S.E., Paris, Texas 75460, until 3:00 o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at which time said bids will be
