<br />SECTION. II <br />METHODOLOGY & TECHNICAL APPROACH <br /> <br />WCG will then prepare a list of those preliminary candidates appearing to have the desired <br />qualifications for consideration by the City. This preliminary group of candidates will form <br />the pool for subsequent steps in the process. wce; will meet with the City Council to <br /> <br />discuss the preliminary pool of candidates prior to moving forward. <br /> <br />The second part of the screening process will involve conducting interviews with the <br /> <br />potential finalists, <br /> <br />The purpose of these conversations will be to gather additional <br /> <br />information about the candidates' background and experiences, Since resumes are only brief <br />summaries of a candidate's qualifications, these interviews are a key part of the process in <br /> <br />identifying a [mal group of candidates for the City to interview. <br /> <br />Our in-depth interview includes a dlOrough question and answer format lasting <br />approximately one hour per candidate and resulting in a written report. (An example may be <br />found in the Appendix Section of this proposaL) Each interview session begins with our <br /> <br />customized background questions and progresses into position specific job-related <br />questions, These questions are developed as a direct result of our interviews with City <br /> <br />Council Members and dIe resulting Profile. <br /> <br />After completion of the interviews, wce; will prepare a preliminary rcport of candidates to <br /> <br />the City Council describing the potential finalists in greater detail. <br /> <br />A meeting will be <br /> <br />scheduled with the City Council to discuss the next step in the process as well as the group <br />of initial candidates for which a detailed background investigation and reference checking <br /> <br />process will be conducted. The initial report of recommended finalists nonnally contains 10 <br />to 12 candidates and will include preliminary background information, summary resume, <br />original resume, and a candidate data profile including the candidate's past management <br /> <br />history. WCG's Director of Executive Search, Chris Hartung, will notify any candidates not <br /> <br /> <br />making it to the final "short list" in writing. <br /> <br />THE W~\TERS CONSULTING GROUP.
