The following Board members were present:
Jackie Alsobrook, Sarah Gambill, Peggy Guthrie, Bill Kennedy, Carl
Lucas, Nancee Salzman, and Walter Williams. Also attending was Betty
Landon, Library Director and Callie Thompson, Friends' President.
Deborah Hatley did not attend.

The minutes from the February meeting were approved.

Archie Holland, a library patron, appeared before the Board to voice a
complaint about the Library's cell phone usage policy. Patrons are asked
to keep cell phones turned off and not to use them in the Library in the
interest of not disturbing library users. Mr. Holland wants to be able to
use his cell phone while in the Library. He further complained that the
staff would not give him messages or call him to the phone while he was
using the Library. Mr. Holland was informed that the Library has no
paging system and must rely on staff searching the building to call a patron
to the phone. Mrs. Alsobrook pointed out that our staff is limited in
number and may not be free to look for people. After consideration, the
Board voted to leave the cell phone policy as it is.

The Board signed the Resolution of Sympathy for the Robert Pierson
family and the Library will send it to them.

The budget report was favorable.

February circulation statistics were down about 8% from last February.
Children's programming had 17 programs with 212 children and 101
adults attending. These programs included a Valentine Party on our
snowy Valentine's Day. In Children's Outreach, 15 programs were held
with 317 children attending and 52 adults.
