<br />\j:¡""'~'è""" '."c <br /> <br />,j..'.". <br /> <br />r',"F "." <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />Paris Municipal Band Commission <br /> <br />A meeting of the members of the Paris Municipal Band Commission was held 0[1 <br />Mo!'1day, ,January 76, 7004, ilt 12 noon, in the Conference Room of the Lamar <br />County Chamber of Commerce, <br /> <br />PRESENT <br /> <br />Albert Nichol <br />Dr. James Brunette <br /> <br />I inda Suarez <br /> <br />ABSENT <br /> <br />Randy Bunch <br />The meeting was called to order by Secretary I tnda Suarez at 12:15 p,m. <br /> <br />As the first order of business, the minutes from thf.' previous meeting held on <br />September 3, 2003, were unanimously approved as submitted on a motion by <br />Albert Nichol. seconded by Dr. James Brunette. <br /> <br />The concert schedule was set for the 2004 season: June 11. 18, 25 and July 3, <br />9, 16. The July 3 Gancer! will be in held in wf1jum;tion with the Rotary Clubs' <br />Fireworks Display in Noyse Stadium and the July 16 concert will be heTd in <br />conjunction with the Crape Myrtle Queen Coronation. All concerts, except for <br />July 3 will be held in Bywaters Park, Sally Wright has this schedule on her parks <br />calenrlilr of events. <br /> <br />Discussion was then f¡nali~ed on recommendations to the Mayor for the <br />replacement of Edmond Castleberry's unexpired term: Edwin Pickle and Patsy <br />Détnlels will be proposed to the Mayor for one to be selected. Whoever the <br />mayor does not select this time will be proposed (he next time the Commission <br />has a vacancy <br /> <br />There was a review of the Volunteer expo attend by Tom Neugent, Albert Nichol <br />ð",J Linda Suar eL. There were two people signir 'y up with an interest in joining <br />the Pmis Municipal Band, The names will be referred to Tom Neugent. Band <br />Director <br /> <br />Under other discussion, the Commission selected Paul Denney and Kenny Oaus <br />to provide sound and lighting again tor the 2004 season. Discussion regarding <br />band policies was also discussed and a preliminary document will be reviewed at <br />the next meeting. Some of the policies for consideration include: <br /> <br />. The national anthem played by the Paris Municipal Band as opposed to a <br />guest accompanist providing taped music while a band is waiting to <br />perform. <br />
